Kleinfelter wins WHAC Pitcher of the Week; surpasses program record for career strikeouts

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference released their weekly award winners for Baseball players of the week and Concordia Cardinals' Tyson Kleinfelter won pitcher of the week for the conference. 

 

Kleinfelter, a junior, grabbed his first WHAC award of the season after going a perfect 2-0 with complete game wins against Cornerstone and Rochester. Throughout the two games, Kleinfelter was able to allow only two earned runs while striking out 20 batters. He was tops on the team with a 1.29 ERA. 

 

This is the second time that Kleinfelter has won WHAC pitcher of the week after he won it last season. 

 

 

In the game against Rochester, Kleinfelter surpassed the program record for strikeouts, as he now has 184 strikeouts in his career. 

 

The baseball team will go up against Saginaw Valley State Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup with the Cardinals with the solo game beginning at 3:05 pm.
