West named NCCAA Baseball Offensive Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) The National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly student-athlete of the week recipients on Monday afternoon and Concordia's Aaron West was named the Baseball Offensive Player of the Week.

West, a transfer from Grand Rapids Community College, had another good week at the plate for the Cardinals, who are in Florida for their spring break trip. The Cardinals participated in the Warner Invitation, where they faced four opponents ranked or receiving votes within the NAIA. The Concordia third baseman made an impact by getting on base at an impressive .667 clip. He scored a total of 8 runs, drove in 5, and ended the week with a .538 average.

West is the first Cardinal to receive NCCAA Baseball Student-Athlete of the Week honors this season. He joined Timothy Pomaville earlier this season when they both won WHAC Player of the Week honors.

The Cardinals will be back on the diamond this Tuesday and Wednesday with games against Trinity Baptist and Fort Lauderdale.
