Baseball splits with UNOH on day 2 of weekend series
(Ann Arbor, MI) - Concordia baseball wrapped up their weekend series with UNOH by playing a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.  The Cardinals fell 5-0 in game one but claimed the 1-0 shutout in game two to earn the split. 
 
GAME 1 – UNOH 5, CUAA 0 (seven innings) 
Kyle Winslow was the starting pitcher for game one, throwing 6.2 innings with 4 strikeouts.  The game started as a pitchers' duel with neither team scoring for the first five innings.  
UNOH broke through with five runs in the sixth inning.  The Cardinals were unable to mount a comeback and fell in game one. 
 
GAME 2 – CUAA 1, UNOH 0 (nine innings) 
Drew Murphy started game two on the mound, pitching five innings with 3 strikeouts.  Once again, the defense of both teams dominated with neither team scoring for the first four innings.   
In the fifth inning, Taishin Matsushita broke the shutout with an RBI groundout that scored Justin Kozlowski.   
Blake Weaver pitched starting in the sixth inning, going 3.1 innings with 3 strikeouts.  Weaver maintained the Cardinals' lead heading into the ninth inning.  
Kenneth (Dave) Rozmys pitched the last two outs of the ninth inning, securing the save with a strikeout on the final batter and clinching the 1-0 win. 
 
Concordia will travel to rival Madonna this Saturday, April 27th, for a doubleheader starting at 1pm.
