Emily McCalla earns WHAC Defensive Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has announced its first WHAC Player's of the Week award for Women's Basketball and Concordia Cardinal's Emily McCalla took home Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her Cardinal career. 

 

McCalla, a senior from Grass Lake, MI, was named to the Concordia Invitational Tournament (CIT) All-Tournament Team over the weekend in large part to her defense. McCalla tallied a team-high 16 rebounds across the three games. She would also go on to lead the team in steals and blocks with six and three respectively with five steals and two blocks coming against Concordia Wisconsin.

 

She joins Abby Long as the Cardinals to have earned the honor this season.

 

The Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday, January 29th when they travel to Michigan-Dearborn for a 5:30 PM.
