(Newark, DE) Concordia Men's Hockey headed out East for a doubleheader against the University of Delaware. The Blue Hens pressured the Cardinals early and often, coming away with the 4-0 victory.
Deleware opened up the scoring with a goal from Justin Guelph five minutes into the match. Concordia had power play opportunities in the first period, but were unable to convert.
The second period featured the Cardinals trying to weather three separate penalties. The Blue Hens scored a trio of goals in the period, with one of them coming on the power play.
Neither team found the back of the net in the third period with Nolan Foster stopping a game-high 16 shots in the final period. Foster ended the game with 42 saves on the day.
The two sides will return to the ice Saturday evening for the second leg of the doubleheader. Puck drop is set for 8:30 PM in Newark, Delaware.
