(Fort Wayne, IN) - #6 seed CUAA men's hockey faced #3 seed Lawrence Tech in the first round of the WHAC tournament. The Cardinals fought back from a 2-0 deficit to tie the game 2-2, but the Blue Devils pulled away for an 8-2 win.
Nolan Foster played the first period in net, making 19 saves. Lawrence Tech scored the first two goals and led 2-0 after the first period.
Connor Carroll played the second period in goal, notching 12 saves. The Cardinals got on the board when Bryce Iott scored off an assist from Nicholas Twombley. Less than a minute later, Joseph Lajcaj tied the game with McCarthy Clark drawing the helper. The Blue Devils responded with two goals to lead 4-2 after the second period.
Ryan Nickerson played the third period in net, recording 17 saves. Lawrence Tech extended their lead with four goals in the period. The Cardinals were unable to mount a comeback and fell 8-2 as time expired.
