Men's Hockey falls in series finale against Cleary

(Howell, MI) - Concordia men's hockey wrapped up their weekend series with a game at Cleary on Saturday evening.  The Cardinals battled hard through three periods but the Cougars pulled away in the third period for a 7-3 win. 

 

Anthony Seykora played a complete game in net with 45 saves.  Cleary got on the board first, but the Cardinals countered less than two minutes later when Brayden Tayles scored with assists from Derek Hebner and Mason Blow.  The game was tied 1-1 after the first period. 

 

Cleary took the lead with a marker in the second period.  Both teams traded powerplay chances and the Cardinals trailed 2-1 heading into the second intermission. 

 

CUAA tied the game early in the third period when Kyle Hebner scored assisted by Jack Kallsen and Derek Hebner.  However, Cleary rallied with five unanswered goals to retake the lead.  The Cardinals got a late powerplay goal from Bryce Iott with helpers by Carson Ediger and Ethan Lindle.  However, Cleary took the win 7-3. 

 

Concordia will travel to Rochester Christian this Friday, January 24th, for a 2:30pm game.
