Men's Hockey blanked at #12 Indiana Tech

(Fort Wayne, IN) - The Concordia Men's Hockey team hit the road to Indiana Tech to face the Warriors for the second game of their back-to-back series. This was their fourth and final matchup between the two teams this season.

 

The Cardinals rotated through three goaltenders in the game, with Ryan Nickerson leading the way with 11 saves on 12 attempts.

 

The first period of the match started slowly, but then with three minutes left in the period, the Warriors got on the board with a goal from Brandon Plummer assisted by Aiden Dufort to make it a 1-0 game heading into the first intermission.

 

The second period was headlined by the Warriors as they scored three times in the period. The Cardinals switched goalies to Anthony Seykora to start the period. The Warrior scoring started early in the period with a power-play goal scored by Malik Ali helped by Alex Arnold and Dufort. Eight minutes later, the Warriors scored another power-play goal from Ryan Doucette assisted by Arnold and Ali to stretch the Warrior lead to 3-0. One minute later, the Warriors scored again from Alex Carrothers helped by Pavel Svoboda and Joey Mocnik to push the Warrior lead to 4-0 to end the second period.

 

The Cardinals switched to goaltender Connor Carroll to start the third period. The Warriors did all the scoring in the third with a goal by Doucette helped by Dufort and Arnold to push the Warrior lead to 5-0 where the game ended.

 

 

The Concordia Cardinals host the Cardinals from Saginaw Valley at Buhr Park in Ann Arbor for an outside game on Friday, February 7th at 12:30 PM.
