(Canton, MI) - Concordia men's hockey welcomed #13 Indiana Tech to the Arctic Edge on Saturday Evening. The Cardinals fought hard looking to pull off the upset, but fell 6-1.
The first period saw a lot of back and forth action, with over 30 shots on goal between the two teams. Some stellar saves from Nolan Foster set the Cardinal offense up well for their own opportunities. Indiana Tech was able to find the back of the net once on a power play goal, but three minutes later Carson Ediger answered and knotted the game up at one off the stick of Jackson Blough. More strong saves from both goalies followed; leading up to a 1-1 first intermission.
The second period saw a lot of great defense from both sides. Nolan Foster stopped 14 shots, and the Cardinal defense has several great blocks. It was not until the last two minutes that Indiana Tech's Austin Sawyer found the back of the net to take the lead. The Warriors went into the locker room for the final intermission up 2-1.
Indiana Tech started off the third period with a goal from Brandon Plummer six minutes in. They then began to pull away with three more goals in the period. The Cardinals ended up falling 6-1 in the end.
Concordia will be back in action on November 22nd at Aquinas.
