(Canton, MI) - Concordia men's hockey hosted Indiana Tech on Friday night to start a weekend series. The team battled to a scoreless tie after the first period, but the Warriors pulled away for a 9-1 win.
Nolan Foster played the first two periods in net making 43 saves. The Cardinals weathered a heavy attack with the Warriors outshooting them 21-7. CUAA killed off a penalty late in the period and the game was tied 0-0 heading into intermission.
Indiana Tech scored first just under three minutes into the second period. The Cardinals countered when Kolton Horn scored with assists from Carson Ediger and Ethan Lindle. Indiana Tech began to build momentum with four goals and led 5-0 after the second period.
Anthony Seykora played the third period in net making 15 saves. The third period was chippy with both teams called for multiple penalties. The Warriors extended their lead and handed the Cardinals a 9-1 loss as time expired.
Concordia will travel to Indiana Tech tomorrow, February 1st, for a 2pm game.
