Cardinals pick up season sweep over RCU

(Canton, MI) The Concordia Men's Hockey team welcomed Rochester Christian to the Arctic Edge for their fourth and final matchup of the regular season. The Cardinals fought off the Warriors for a 6-2 victory to pick up another WHAC victory and a weekend sweep!

Ethan Lindle led the way with a hat trick and an assist, while Kolton Horn was close behind with two goals of his own to go with an assist. Ryan Nickerson earned the win in between the pipes with a total of 29 saves on the night.

The Warriors drew first blood when Shaun Zatelli found the back of the net on a short handed goal just five minutes into the game. The Cardinals responded well with a goal from Ethan Lindle and from Bryce Lott to head into the first intermission up 2-1. Those two goals included some incredible passing schemes, with assists going to Derek Hebner (2), Jackson Blough, and Brayden Tayles

Rochester opened up the second period scoring with an unassisted goal to knot the game up two. That did not last for long as Kolton Horn gave the Cardinals the lead heading to the third period after a great pass from Mason Blow set him up well.

The third period was all Cardinals, as they were able to add three more goals and push the game out of reach for the Warriors. A power play goal from Horn got the party started, while Lindle found the net twice more for the hat trick. The final goal for the Cardinals was set up well off a pass from Marek Drennan while Horn was screening the goalie's view. An incredible display of unselfishness tonight from the Men's Hockey team!

Concordia will be back in action next Friday at home as they welcome #13 Indiana Tech to the Arctic Edge at 5:30pm.
