Lawrence Tech edges out Men's Hockey 3-2

(Redford, MI) Concordia Men's Hockey hit the road to start their second conference series against Lawrence Tech Friday evening. The game was closely contested throughout, with two 3rd period goals making the difference as the Blue Devils came away victorious 3-2.

Lawrence Tech jumped out to an early lead with a goal just over two minutes into the game. The Cardinals weathered a Blue Devil powerplay to keep it within one score after one.

The Blue Devils had a pair of game misconducts in the middle of the game, as well as a few other penalties that Concordia was unable to take advantage of. Both sides played well when down a man, with no power play goals scored during the game. Instead, Bryce Iott even up the game in the second period with an even strength goal to make it tied heading into the third.

Lawrence Tech responded quickly in the third period with a goal to reclaim the lead, and followed that up with what would end up being an important insurance goal. Joseph Lajcaj put one into the back of the net with 7 minutes remaining, but the Cards were not able to even it up after that, falling 3-2.

The two teams will meet up again on Saturday, December 7. Puck drop is set for 5:30 PM at the Arctic Edge in Canton.
