Men's Hockey swept at Delaware

(Newark, DE) Concordia Men's Hockey returned to the ice for the back half of a doubleheader against University of Delaware. The Blue Hens jumped out to a quick lead and maintained it for a 13-1 victory over the Cardinals.

 

Delaware opened up the game with a goal five minutes into the game. They were able to double their lead five minutes later. Dominic Guido made it a five-goal lead with a hat trick, scored in under seven minutes.

 

Delaware tacked on one more before Derek Hebner scored Concordia's lone goal of the night, off of a Nicholas Twombley assist. The Blue Hens' Tanner Mahoney netted a pair of power play goals to close out the second period.

 

The Blue Hens would go on to score another five goals in the third period, with two coming off of a power play. The Cardinals played three goalies on the day, with Connor Carrol stopping 27 shots, Anthony Seykora 21, and Ryan Nickerson 5 in the final 10 minutes.

 

 

The Cardinals will return to action on Friday, October 4th when they welcome the Toledo Rockets to town. Puck Drop is set for 8:00 PM at the Arctic Edge.
