Men's Hockey drops WHAC contest to UM-Dearborn

(Dearborn Heights, MI) - The Concordia Cardinals Men's Hockey team went up against Michigan-Dearborn for the back half of a home-and-home series against the Wolverines. UM-Dearborn struck first and did not give up the lead as they went onto an 8-0 victory.

 

The Wolverines entered the game with a 3-4 overall record and 3-2 in WHAC play. The Cardinals entered at 2-7 overall and 2-3 in conference games. 

 

The first period saw the Wolverines score in the first 35 seconds and add another three over the next 9 minutes. One more goal hit the back of the net for Michigan-Dearborn, making it 5-0 after the first. UMD led the shots in the period 19-5. 

 

Once again scoring quickly to open the period, the Wolverines put up a pair of goals for a 7-0 lead after 40 minutes.UMD led the shots category in the period 15-10. 

 

The Wolverines put up one goal in the final 20 minutes for the 8-0 win. Dearborn led the final period 12-4 in shots. 

 

Anthony Seykora (1-2-0) started in goal for CUAA playing 20:36 and making 14 saves. Nolan Foster played the remaining 39:24 in net and made 24 saves. 

 

The Cardinals are back in action on Friday, October 25 when they travel to take on Cleary at the 140 Ice Den in Howell, Michigan for a 5:30 puck drop.
