Baseball sweeps four-game series against IUPUC

(Columbus, IN) The Concordia Cardinals traveled south for a four-game series against Indiana University – Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC). The Cards swept the Crimson Pride, winning the Saturday games 9-1 and 10-2, while winning both Sunday games with a score of 3-1.

 

  • Tyson Kleinfelter, Logan Fleming, Timothy Pomaville, and Evan Jasiak all were the pitchers of record in their games, each earning a win in the series.
  • Kleinfelter and Pomaville both struck out a team leading 9 Crimson Pride batters in the series.
  • Taishin Matsushita recorded a save in the series as well.
  • Cardinals pitchers allowed just a total of 12 hits throughout the four game series.
  • Aaron (AJ) Brazelton led the Cards in batting average in the series, going 6-12 at the dish. He also tied Curtis Townsend with 4 runs batted in.
  • Drew Fleming had Concordia's lone home run of the series, which helped him lead the team in slugging percentage (.692).
  • Jarrett Batanian swiped a team high 2 bags on the basepaths this weekend.

 

Next up, the Cardinals will be entering WHAC play with a series at Cleary on Saturday, March 18th. First pitch is set for 1:00 pm at Lake Trust Stadium.
