(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia baseball completed pod play on Friday morning with another contest against Indiana Tech. The Cardinals overcame a 3-0 deficit to claim an 8-4 victory and win their pod.
Bryon Mane started on the mound, going 5.2 innings with 3 strikeouts. Indiana Tech scored in the 3rd, 4th, and 6th to take a 3-0 lead. Trey Acker pitched the final 3.1 innings with a strikeout.
In the bottom of the 6th, Kyle Hebner drew a bases-loaded walk to force Jordan Sherman home. In the 7th, Justin Kozlowski walked with the bases loaded and Aaron Brazelton hit the game-tying RBI single.
A 5-run 8th put Concordia in the lead, starting with Jordan Sherman and Justin Kozlowski drawing bases-loaded walks. Aaron Brazelton was then hit by a pitch and Kyle Hebner hit a 2-RBI single to extend the lead.
Cardinal fans began to applaud as Trey Acker secured the final 3 outs in the 9th, clinching an 8-4 win.
Concordia will now host the WHAC championship series against Madonna next Monday and Tuesday.
