Tyson Kleinfelter picks up second straight WHAC Player of the Week; also named NCCAA Player of the Week

(Ann Arbor, MI) - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) announced their weekly player of the week honors and Cardinal Tyson Kleinfelter earned back-to-back WHAC pitcher of the week honors. 

 

 

Kleinfleter, a senior from Perrysburg, Ohio, pitched his second straight complete game shutout going seven innings against Lourdes on Sunday. Kleinfleter gave up three hits and four walks while striking out a total of 9 batters on the day. Kleinfelter improved his season record to 8-0. 

 

This is the third time Kleinfleter has taken home WHAC honors this season. He is joined by Drew Fleming as a WHAC honoree this season. Kleinfelter also joins Fleming, Timothy Pomaville, and Jarrett Batanian as players who have earned NCCAA honors as well. 

 

The Cardinals are currently battling against the Gray Wolves from Lourdes in a doubleheader. They will travel to Central Michigan on Wednesday for an exhibition game against the Chippewas.
