Baseball falls in doubleheader at UNOH
 
 

(Lima, OH) – Concordia baseball went on the road to UNOH on Friday for a significant WHAC matchup.  The Cardinals' winning streak was halted as the Racers took both games on the day. 

 

Game 1 – UNOH 8, CUAA 1 (7 innings) 

Tyson Kleinfelter started game 1, making 7 strikeouts in 4 innings.  UNOH scored first in the 1st.  In the 2nd, Justin Kozlowski laid down a sacrifice bunt to score Tyler Wressel and tie the game. 

UNOH built a 5-1 lead after the 4thTaishin Matsushita came in to pitch in the 5th, making 2 strikeouts.  The Cardinals were unable to mount a comeback and fell 8-1 in game 1. 

 

Game 2 – UNOH 6, CUAA 3 

Bryon Mane started game 2, notching 5 strikeouts in 6.2 innings.  The Cardinals scored in the 1st when Caleb Harmond hit an RBI single to drive in Kyle Hebner.  UNOH tied the game in the bottom half. 

Concordia took the lead in the 3rd when Jordan Sherman used an RBI single to score Kyle Hebner.  In the 5th, Aaron West hit an RBI single to drive in Harrison Ryan. 

UNOH slowly made a comeback, taking the lead in the 7thEvan Jasiak finished the final 1.1 innings on the mound, but the Cardinals fell in game 2. 

 

Concordia will return home tomorrow to host Madonna for a doubleheader starting at 1pm.
