(Adrian, MI) – Concordia baseball played a single 9-inning game on Tuesday evening against rival Siena Heights. The Cardinals erased a 6-2 deficit and came back for a 9-6 victory to sweep the series.
Drew Murphy started on the mound, making 4 strikeouts in 4 innings. The game was scoreless until Siena Heights plated 5 runs in the 4th. In the bottom half, Jarrett Batanian got the Cardinals on the board with a sacrifice fly to score Caleb Harmond.
Kyle Winslow pitched 1.1 innings starting in the 5th with 2 strikeouts. Drew Fleming doubled in the 5th to drive in Aaron West. Siena Heights scored a run in the 6th, but the Cardinals countered with a 2-run homer from Jordan Sherman in the 7th. Evan Jasiak pitched the last 3 innings of the game, picking up the win.
A 5-run 8th surged Concordia into the lead, starting with an RBI double from Aaron West. Drew Fleming hit a go-ahead 2-RBI single, Caleb Harmond had an RBI single and Justin Kozlowski used a sacrifice bunt to send Jordan Sherman home.
Concordia will return home this Saturday to host Lourdes starting at 1pm.
