Baseball takes 17-11 win over UM-Dearborn
 
 

(Detroit, MI) – Concordia baseball took on UM-Dearborn on Saturday afternoon in a WHAC contest.  The Cardinals took a 17-11 victory while game 2 was postponed to a later date. 

 

Bryon Mane started on the mound, pitching 1 inning.  The Cardinals scored 6 runs in the 1st, starting with an RBI double from Jordan ShermanJarrett Batanian drew a bases-loaded walk and Justin Kozlowski crushed a grand slam. 

UM-Dearborn scored 3 runs in the bottom half.  In the 2nd, Jordan Sherman hit another RBI double and Caleb Harmond hit a 2-RBI single for a 9-3 lead. 

Trey Acker came in to pitch starting in the 2nd, making 7 strikeouts.  In the 3rd, Aaron Brazelton had an RBI double scoring Justin Kozlowski. 

In the 4th, Jordan Sherman hit his third RBI double of the day.  Aaron Brazelton added an RBI groundout and Aaron West hit a 3-RBI double. 

In the 5th, Caleb Harmond used a sacrifice fly to score Jimmy Wressel.  Jordan Sherman was able to reach home while Jarrett Batanian was stealing second base. 

Trey Acker and the Cardinal defense held strong and took the 17-11 win. 

 

Concordia will play another doubleheader versus UM-Dearborn tomorrow starting at 1pm.
