(Ann Arbor, MI) – Concordia baseball hosted WHAC tournament play on Thursday afternoon.  The Cardinals downed Lawrence Tech 9-4 and topped Indiana Tech 10-5 to add two more wins. 

Game 1 – CUAA 9, LTU 4 

Timothy Pomaville started game 1, making 3 strikeouts in 7 innings.  LTU scored first in the 2nd, but the Cardinals responded in the bottom when Aaron (AJ) Brazelton hit into a fielder's choice scoring Jordan Sherman. 

In the 3rd, Jordan Sherman hit a sacrifice fly scoring Aaron West and Jarrett Batanian used an RBI single to drive in Drew Fleming. 

LTU tied the game with a 2-run homer in the 6th.  Concordia answered in the bottom half when Justin Kozlowski hit an RBI single scoring Caleb Harmond. 

In the 7th, Jordan Sherman crushed a 3-run homer and Caleb Harmond followed with a solo shot.   

Kenneth (Dave) Rozmys came in to pitch in the 8th, making 3 strikeouts in the final 2 innings.  In the bottom of the 8th, Drew Fleming hit a solo home run.  Rozmys closed out the 9th to clinch the win. 

Game 2 – CUAA 10, IIT 5 

Tyson Kleinfelter started game 2, notching 7 strikeouts in 6 innings.  Indiana Tech took a 1-0 lead after the 2nd. 

In the 4th, Caleb Harmond hit an RBI single scoring Jordan Sherman to tie the game.  Jarrett Batanian then crushed a 2-run homer for the lead. 

Indiana Tech fought back to lead 5-3 after the 6th.  In the 7th, Justin Kozlowski hit a solo home run and Aaron West tied the game with an RBI single.  Drew Fleming hit a go-ahead RBI double and James (Jimmy) Wressel added an RBI single scoring his brother Tyler Wressel. 

Evan Jasiak pitched starting in the 7th, making 2 strikeouts and picking up the save.  In the 8th, Drew Fleming and James (Jimmy) Wressel tacked on RBI singles to extend the lead.   

In the 9th, Justin Kozlowski used an RBI single to score Jarrett Batanian.  Evan Jasiak pitched a 1-2-3 inning to close out game 2. 

Concordia will host Indiana Tech again tomorrow at 11:00am looking to close out the series.
